PV Solar Trade Ally Program Participant Guidelines & Acknowledgement

I. ELIGIBILITY

An Application for Customer Generation Connection Application (Form K450) must be approved by a participating electric utility representative and the system must be installed by a Participating Solar Trade Ally Program Contactor for a Customer-owned renewable generator to qualify. A Program Participant is required to watch the Solar Trade Ally Network online training video in its entirety. A participating electric utility-branded "Customer-Owned Solar Checklist Form” will be required to be provided for each Customer by the PV Solar Trade Ally Program participant.

All equipment and materials must be purchased by the Customer and inspected by the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction, ie. state or municipal electrical inspector) and the service utility before a PV solar system is energized.

Product(s) must be installed, and services rendered at the Customer's property in the participating electric utility's service territory. Falsifying information will result of loss of designation as a Participating Program Contractor.

II. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I acknowledge that initial operation of a net-metered system will not occur until after the participating electric utility has programmed the bi-directional net meter and the utility's Customer Generation Connection Application (Form K450) has been signed by a participating electric utility representative.

I acknowledge and will represent to Customers that the participating electric utility's Residential and Commercial General Service (small commercial) rates are comprised of two primary components: a fixed Customer charge and a variable energy charge.

I acknowledge and will represent to Customers that the primary Customer bill impact from Customer-owned generator is a reduction in monthly energy costs which is distinct from the monthly fixed Customer charge.

I acknowledge that based on 30-year projections from the US Energy Information Administration, rate adjustments of between 0-1.5% percent annually (not adjusted for inflation) are reasonable for projecting lifetime savings. I will provide the Customer with the annual rate escalation that is prominently displayed on the sales proposal.

I acknowledge that as a Solar Trade Ally Program Participant I waive any claim that I am a third-party beneficiary of any agreement or contract between participating electric utilities and their Customers.

I acknowledge participating electric utilities do not endorse or warrant any contractors, manufacturers, products, or system designs, and will not use the participating electric utility's name or likeness in any marketing, advertising, or promotional materials.

I acknowledge that all installations must comply with federal, state, and local safety and building codes and regulations.

I will provide Customers with an a participating electric utility-branded “Customer-Owned Solar Checklist” for each project.
